Displacement

Visiting players' highest stat and lowest stat swap for the game. The Reserve rearranges you.

Lore

The Ochre Reserve occupies land that was a wildlife conservancy before The Almighty Ice arrived. The animals did not leave. They simply... moved over. Giraffes are occasionally visible through the windows of the upper concourse. The Displacement modifier swaps visiting players' strongest and weakest stats for the duration of the game. A sniper becomes a bruiser. A defender becomes a playmaker. Le Council believes the Reserve rearranges things—not just stats, but priorities, assumptions, certainties. Players describe leaving The Ochre Reserve feeling like they've been taken apart and put back together in a slightly different order. The narwhals in the team's branding have never been seen in Nairobi. This is not considered unusual.

The Building

Low and sprawling, built from rammed earth in deep red-orange that matches the Nairobi soil. The building blends into the landscape—at a distance, it looks like a natural formation, a long red mesa with openings cut into its face. The roof is a series of flat green-planted terraces where local grasses and shrubs grow. The main entrance is through a wide, open corridor of packed earth and timber, flanked by shallow pools of water. Inside, the seating bowl is built into the earth itself, descending from ground level to The Almighty Ice surface below. The walls are raw rammed earth, warm to the touch, with The Almighty Ice creating a microclimate at the center—cool air pooling at rink level, warm air rising to the planted roof. Natural light enters through clerestory windows that run the full perimeter. The building is quiet and grounded. It feels old in a way that has nothing to do with age.
